My Counselling

I am an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor with over eighteen years’ experience working within the NHS and in private practice. I work with adults on a short term and long term basis.

I provide a non-judgemental safe and confidential space to enable clients to feel comfortable to explore any issues they wish to bring to the session.

My initial training was in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and I then progressed on to The Minster Centre in London to do an Integrative training in Counselling and Psychotherapy. My intention is to tailor the sessions to suit individual needs and preferences.

The image I use in my work is that of the labyrinth. I have recently trained as a Veriditas labyrinth facilitator and I believe the labyrinth reflects the complexity of the psychological process. Unlike a maze in which you can get lost, the labyrinth offers you one true path. In order to tread the path and find your true core you will need to take many twists and turns but ultimately you will find your way to the centre. As we know, life has a nasty habit of throwing us off course. Through the psychotherapeutic journey it is anticipated that you will be able to unravel the knots which have been causing you concern or distress and be able to free yourself from some of these constraints in order to move forward in your life.

My practice is in Ilkley on The Grove with the entrance at the back of the building. I can offer Friday afternoon and Friday evening sessions.
